![]() Unfortunately the same can't be said of the taste which comes across as completely fake and gummy like. It also gravitates to the tarter rather than sweet side of pineapple while doing a decent enough impression of the fruit to only come across as slightly artificial. Happy Dad Pineapple: Well at least this actually smells like pineapple even if the scent is mild and reserved, which just seems to be the running theme for this product. Absolutely dreadful and one of the worst seltzer tastes I've had.35/10 I love sour flavors but this is just messy and lazy with no coherent flavor. Is there a watermelon taste? Yes, hidden deep within the overwhelming tartness and sickly sweet fake citrus. What stuck out to me the most was just how insanely sour this flavor is to the point where my face puckered up from my first few sips. Upon tasting it this feels more like you dumped a bunch of those powdered electrolytes with vague citrus flavors (I picked up on an odd mix of fake orange and lemon) into nicely carbonated water. After much thought I landed at Orange Tang Powder with that odd electrolyte smell that's present in Gatorade. It was hard to pinpoint what this smells like because smells unnatural and has a familiar sweetness to it. What little aromas I can get aren't even quite watermelon. Happy Dad Watermelon: There's barely any nose to this to the point that I'm reminded of La Croix's tamest flavors. The only nice thing I have to say about this is that the carbonation level is quite nice. It's also weirdly tart for the overall lack of flavor. This tastes like the first recipe they tried out to get a cherry flavor rather than a finished product. It's no exaggeration to say that it tastes as if you left no more than ten Jolly Ranchers in a bottle of mineral water overnight expecting that to provide you with a burst of flavor. ![]() But the taste is extremely underwhelming and marks this as one of the least flavored seltzers on the market. The nose is rather faint and closely resembles what it would feel like to dump a packet of cherry powder from those Baby Bottle Pop candies. However what I had didn't leave a positive impression, especially as I was informed this was the best flavor. Happy Dad Cherry: This is the only flavor I didn't try out in a glass but just had straight from a can at a party, so necessarily my review of this flavor will be more brief than the others. Still, I did my best to review these as objectively as I could.ĭisclaimer: Mods have approved Seltzer Reviews as appropriate for this sub! I'm only vaguely aware of their YT and I'll confess I found it childish and not to my liking, so I do have that bias. Luckily by some weird turn of events I managed to get my hands on all their flavors. It got to the point where I didn't think I'd ever be able to review this series because it's so hard to find. I'll confess I know little of the NELK Boys and was caught off-guard by how hyped up this Seltzer was.
